Dantewada..who is to blame?

Arundhati Roy’s interview on CNN IBN was an eye opener for a person like me, whose knowledge about the Maoists problem doesn’t go beyond the half cooked ill researched and sometimes politically influenced stories fed to us by the Indian English news channels.
When viewed in isolation Dantewada( as i did before i saw that interview) all the blames lies with the Maoists . Surely there is no apt reason to kill 76 men , but when you push a community of a 100,000 to the brink, such instances will happen.
When asked why she romanticised the view of a 16 year old girl carrying a gun. Her answer was that she wished that it had never come to the day that she viewed such an instance in positive light, but she’d rather see her carrying a gun than getting raped by a CRPF jawan.
I agree with her when she says that we live in a fake democracy. We live in a country where there is a democracy, but only for the rich and the middleclass. No, such concept exists for the poor and the marginalised.
How can such violence be justified?
“Non violent protest works only of you have an audience. In the forest you don’t have any”

Though the full interview is not available on the net at present ill post it as soon as I can get my hands on it.
